Dada and Greta play a simple game of pointing to body parts and naming them. Greta is always mesmerized! Probably because Eric says it all so softly to her, and rubs her belly, rubs her head, rubs her cheeks, or whatever body part she is learning. You can see how much she loves it. A child who won't sit still for 1 second... this seems to be the trick.

All Aboard!
We took a trip to the North Pole, which happens to have its very own Winking Lizard! Lucy had a fantastic time... she enjoyed the singing, the reindeer hokey poky, of course she loved the cookie and hot chocolate, and all the elves at the North Pole. She was brave enough to march up and down the train car in the pajama parade and to tell everyone over the mic that she wanted a baby for Christmas. But then Santa came!! And the good feeling was gone. :-( Santa gave Lucy a little bell, and she decided he might be worth warming up to. We asked Santa to try again, and she was brave and thoughtful enough to say "Thank you" for the bell.
This confused child, when asked what her favorite part was, answered, "Seeing Santa." The next night, however, she told me she doesn't want to go on the Polar Express again. Hmmm..we'll see.

Who's got a big red cherry nose?
Visiting Santa didn't go as well as expected. At home, getting ready to leave, Lucy was excited. She even colored him a picture and said she wanted to give it to him. She was prepared to tell him what she wants for Christmas: A baby doll and a rhinoceros. But as soon as she saw him, she hid in a corner of poinsettia and cried and yelled "no thank you!" These pictures tell the story. Meanwhile, Greta seemed to enjoy meeting Santa. She was definitely impressed by his beard, and didn't seem to mind her sister crying in her ear.
On our way out, Lucy said to us, "That was fun, seeing Santa."

Trick or Treat!
The Freunds love Halloween!! And wasn't it the most perfect night for some trick or treating? Lucy was a little bear, a "friendly bear"- she insisted. She gave lots of bear hugs! Greta was a ladybug, not by choice, but because we had the costume lying around. She didn't seem to mind at all.

Is she practicing her catwalk?

She was a little stuck in the stroller. Her big bug belly was a tad uncomfortable. She was a trooper though!!

"Oma Witch" always makes Halloween fun!

And Trick or Tweet June Birdie!!! Welcome home!!!

A New Season
With fall also came a new beginning for Lucy. She attends preschool weekly and prides herself on her cooperation and following of directions. She has been described as the lively one in her class. Who would have thought?

Back to School Days
Since we're busy and gone all week, we try to squeeze in a lot of family fun on the weekends. The girls are definitely starting to form more of a relationship... Lucy even finds Greta funny once in awhile. Greta continues to think Lucy is the greatest thing in her whole world.

Ahem! Lucy started "school!" Sort of. She has a parent-child preschool class that thankfully her Oma takes her to once a week. Lucy was so excited to go to "school" for the first time. She just loved it! I think she loves her Hello Kitty backpack the best, though. ;-)

We took a quick trip out to hear Zobapago - a kids band that played at Highland Square this weekend. Little did we know they did some serious face painting. Lucy picked this one out...and loved it! Didn't want to wash it off, so you can imagine the looks she got from all the kids at her church nursery that night.

She was invited to sing the ABC song, but suffered from stage fright. Next time, Bugga!
She was sad her puppy tongue had washed away...but quickly got happy again when we offered her .....

...S'more!
